About The Project
This solid walnut table was built to fit perfectly within the customer’s 3-sided dining nook. As part of the design process I made full-size cardboard mockups of the top. The customer tried out the mockups on a pair of sawhorses to ensure the top provided comfortable movement on and off the bench seating and comfortable seating while eating.
The six boards which make up the top were cut from the same log, which ensures matching grain pattern and color.
The table base features graceful sweeping legs that are made from four curved panels. The uplifting curves lighten the visual weight of this rather large table.
