This section of my portfolio features custom-designed and carefully crafted dining room, kitchen, built-in, and outdoor dining tables. The tables are made from a variety of domestic and exotic hardwoods, with select use of metal in the bases for strength and visual contrast. Several pieces include middle or end leaves to expand seating capacity when needed. While a few tables were stained to achieve a particular tone, most are shown in the wood’s natural color or enhanced through ammonia fuming, a process that subtly darkens the wood and deepens the visual richness of the grain.
Each table was conceived and executed to meet the specific aesthetic and functional requirements of the client; some pieces blend seamlessly with existing decor while others are designed to complement and intentionally contrast. The commission process for the majority of these projects included making scale models of multiple base options and full-size top templates to refine the best design, proportions, and dimensions. In every table I make, a primary goal is to showcase the inherent beauty of the wood. Beyond being practical places to sit and eat, these tables are intended as enduring focal points within the rooms they inhabit.
